Goodwill Industries of Metropolitan Chicago is best known for their Retail operations; in the greater Chicagoland area there are presently 38 Goodwill Store & Donation Centers. Later in October and December 2016 the nonprofit organization will open two new locations in Skokie and Evanston. Though Goodwill Industries of Metropolitan Chicago’s Retail operations tend to be the business that is top-of-mind, Goodwill also operates several other lines of business, what they call social enterprises. These businesses include Goodwill Manufacturing, Goodwill TalentBridge, Workforce Development and Laundry. Through our social enterprises we focus on our stakeholders and seek partners who share our values and support our purpose to either fund our mission or participate in our mission by employing people, providing real work experience and training opportunities. Goodwill is a diverse non-profit community organization that provides training, employment and supportive services for people with disabilities or disadvantages who seek greater independence. This mission — over 95 years strong — strengthens individuals, families and communities. Goodwill Industries of Metropolitan Chicago is the largest among 164 agencies in North America. Last year, the organization provided services to nearly 70,000 men and women with disabilities and disadvantages.
