New Parking Regulations in Downtown Skokie

There is plenty of free parking in Downtown Skokie for both short visits and longer periods of time. Longer-term parking for shoppers is permitted in parking lots on Oakton Street just west of Crafty Beaver Lumber, on the southwest corner of Babb and Louise Avenues, on the northwest corner of Warren at Elmwood Streets and other areas of Downtown Skokie. Signs are now in place in Downtown Skokie that restrict on-street parking to two hours, with no parking in most areas from 3 to 5 a.m. The Oakton-Skokie CTA Station is intended as a ‘kiss and ride’ facility, with no commuter parking around the station. Commuter drop-off should take place in the ‘kiss and ride’ turnaround accessed at Skokie Boulevard and Searle Parkway. Commuter parking is available at the Dempster-Skokie CTA Station.
