The Non-Profit Roundtable was founded in 2012 and serves as a networking group for all nonprofit members of the Chamber, job applicants seeking a career in nonprofits, and non-member businesses attending their first event prior to officially joining. This group is for all 501(c)3, 501(c)6, educational, religious, charitable and social service organizations. Participation in this group is complimentary for member businesses in the above-mentioned categories. There is a nominal admission fee for prospective members and for-profit businesses looking to connect with nonprofit members. The group meets quarterly and offers the opportunity for professionals to share best practices and hear expert speakers on a variety of relevant topics. It is our goal to help build an even stronger community of support for you and your constituents and for Skokie as a whole.
Some of the topics we think might be important to discuss are:
- Membership Retention and Growth
- Finances (Endowment Programs, Record-keeping)
- Outreach and Publicity
- Communication – Websites, Signage and Social Media
- Program Offerings
- Board and Leadership Development; By-Laws/Governing Documents that Work
- Volunteer and Staff Management
- Insurance and Liability
- Capital Campaigns, Building Programs and Fundraising
- Cultural Diversity and Inclusion
- Administration and Technological Support
You may have other issues to add to this list, and together we can prioritize what it most important to the group and your organization. What we aim to accomplish in 2024 includes:
- Think Tank Roundtable Meetings allowing all professionals to discuss the state of the industry; share information and resources
- (Tentative) September Volunteer Fair at Skokie Public Library
Special thanks to our 2024 Leaders and Supporters
