Howard S. Meyer, ACE
President and CEO
Accredited Chamber Executive
Howard joined the Chamber staff as Executive Director at the end of 2004. He is a seasoned professional in the non-profit and business community, having served various organizations in a management and leadership capacity during his career. His experience with Children’s Camps and Conference Centers, and as Business Director for large religious congregations has given him the skills necessary to set the Skokie Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a leading Business Association on the North Shore. Howard brings to our Chamber a commitment to sound fiscal and organizational management, business development and programming. Most importantly, he has a dedication towards customer service, membership development, growing your business and community outreach.
Since coming to the Chamber, Howard has directed a renaissance which has included increasing the level and quality of Chamber programming and a true dedication to the success of member businesses. The Illinois Association of Chamber Executives awarded Howard his ACE, Accredited Chamber Executive, designation in 2017. Howard also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Village of Skokie Economic Development Commission and he is a 17 year member of the Village of Skokie Consumer Affairs Commission. In honor to his 15 years of service to the Chamber, the Board unanimously elevated his title to President and CEO at the beginning of 2020. Howard has a deep passion for Skokie and his door is always open to assist you with your membership needs. Give him a call!

Bio
Bill was born at the Great Lakes Navel Training Center and was raised in a military family. He attended Saint Joseph High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin. After high School he joined the United States Army Reserves as a chemical Operations specialist, training in detection, protection and decontamination of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons. After 9/11 he decided that he was not done with the military and re-enlisted in the US Naval Reserves in a ROTA unit back home in Great Lakes. Bill has traveled around the world as the result of his military career.
Post military, Bill honed his sales career in sports advertising, automotive and the liquor industries. Bill has a passion for sports which has lead him to an advocation as an umpire and referee for the last 25 years!
Bill brings to the Chamber a wonderfully affable personality. He is deeply connected to the community and has many years of experience specializing in customer service, member relations and sales.
