Women in Business is an active group of dynamic professional women who meet monthly to network and share valuable insights into the ever-changing world of business. Each month, women enjoy presentations on a variety of business-oriented subjects. Interesting speakers cover a wide selection of topics ranging from social media to leadership, from finance to time management, and from library resources to legal issues. Women in Business is more than just a networking group: connections are made, business is conducted, and friendships are formed.
Women in Business was founded in 1988 by then Chamber Executive Director and current Board of Director, Lisa Edelson, as she identified the value women bring to the workforce and the additional opportunities that can be created to level the playing field. Women in Business serves as a safe space for all female leaders to come together, support one another, empower each other, make friends and industry connections. The concept of Women in Business has been successful enough where other area Chambers have started their own Women in Business program. With the Skokie Chamber being the originators, we take the helm at organizing the April and October MEGA WIB programs that bring all area Chamber WIB programs together for enhanced networking with an expanded audience.
Women In Business is open to all women in the Skokie Chamber of Commerce and partnering Chambers of commerce. Prospective members are encouraged to join a meeting or two. We usually meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago North Shore. 9599 N. Skokie Boulevard, Skokie, IL 60077-1314 from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m.
